Let's get things rolling, eh?

Well, the fallout from UFC 76 has been nearly unprecedented. What many consider the #1 Light Heavyweight fighter in the world lost to a reality TV star. Funny how the world works.

Thats right, Forrest Griffin knocked off Mauricio "Shogun" Rua with a rear naked choke in the final round of Saturday's contest. Shogun gassed, plain and simple. Much has been made of the PRIDE vs UFC argument and I won't go into it much here, but its hard not to admit PRIDE guys haven't yet lived up.

And here's more interesting news, Chuck Liddell loses for the second time in a row...read it again if you need too. Unbelievable. For the first time in 5 years, a Liddell fight went the distance to a decision, and Chuck was on the short end. Congrats to Keith Jardine for a well-executed game plan full of leg kicks and head movements that left Liddell bewildered. Unfortunately, this may throw the dream match of Liddell vs Wanderlei Silva into the unknown. Stay tuned.

In a Welterwight showdown, Jon Fitch took out the seemingly unstoppable Diego Sanchez. Two losses in a row for the previously undefeated Sanchez has him looking to drop weight to the 155 lb. Division. Fitch is on a 7 fight win streak inside the Octagon...look for him to fight another big name soon.

Overall, the 76 show was great. Big upsets, a few close decisions, and a great showing from the Anaheim fans. Unfortunately, for an event called "Knockout", the were no KO's...funny how MMA works isn't it?
